Beach Bums

We took the boys to the beach for the 1st time and oh did we have fun! We met Cal's family (most of them anyway) down in Port Aransas for an extended weekend. The guys did lots of fishing and the girls vegetated on the beach and at the pool for 3 1/2 days. We didn't quite "lay like broccoli" since there were 5 boys under the age of 5 and don't forget the newest baby girl to join the group! We really can't complain though since The Three Musketeer's (that's Cameron, Austin and Trevor) played pretty well together. There was the occasional sharing dispute but overall they all did good. It might have been a little more traumatic for Cameron then we think... one morning he woke us up dreaming about playing in a sandbox and crying because he didn't want to share his toys (OK, so we have some work to do)!! Cameron did really well in the water. He loved jumping waves with Daddy in the ocean and jumping into the swimming pool. He even went underwater at the swimming pool (because he jumped before Mommy was ready) and came up without crying and freaking out! Good job buddy!
And Bryant??? We were a little worried because he isn't even walking yet but he loved it! It was like a big sandbox with rippling water... stimulation overload! He played with trucks, shovels, buckets and yes, he even ate the wonderfully gritty sand and actually liked it. I guess we should at least be glad he doesn't have texture issues like his big brother. He liked going into the water and laughed when the waves would hit us. Of course who can resist that contagious baby laugh, so we all laughed with him!
Thanks to Memaw and Papaw for organizing the whole thing and for everyone that was able to make it down. Cameron was already asking when we could go back to the beach... give them about a week though to catch up on some sleep!
