Dinosaur World

A couple of weeks ago we headed out to Glen Rose and went to Dinosaur World.  It is exactly what it sounds like, a place full of dinosaurs.  We, as in the adults of the house, weren't overly impressed but the little people all thought it was great.  The weather was a brisk 45 degrees, so that didn't help us considering the entire park was outdoors.  They had life size replicas of probably 50 or so dinosaurs and each one had information about it listed.  Of course, in true kid fashion the boys could have caredless what it said and instead spent a good hour running from one to the other.  Bryant had a map and was trying to navigate us around the park (there was only one way to go) and Cameron just wanted to see all the little dinosaurs and have me take a picture.  They had a picnic area and playground so we ate our lunch and the kids played for awhile.  The boys thought the best part was a fossil dig in a huge sandbox.  They each collected 3 fossils (shark teeth and a shell fossil) and thought they had hit the jackpot!  After spending WAY to long in the gift shop, we left with two overpriced dinosaur eggs that have since hatched in a bucket of water.  The boys are the proud daddy's to two Brachiosaurus'.  Hayden had fun trying to keep up with the boys and when she couldn't, she decided the next best thing was pushing her own stroller.  Sometimes it's the simple things in life.
After Dinosaur World Cal had arranged for us to go to a clients ranch and look around.  They have about 1800 acres (something ridiculous like that) and part of it is an Exotic Game Ranch.  We had fun driving around looking at all the animals and laughing at Bryant who acted like he had known them all his life.  Poor couple doesn't have any kids or grandkids so I'm sure they needed a good nap after we left.  The funniest part was that these people literally have millions of dollars and were asking us if you could freeze donuts to eat later... I'm not even sure what to say about that?!
The best part of the day was getting to spend some time together and slow down a little bit.  As cold as it was, it was nice to be outside and let the kids run and be loud, and just be kids!
