Bragging... Just a Little

As we are easing into 2011 there are a few things I need to catch up to speed with the kiddos. Let's start with a little bragging on the oldest... Cameron has been doing AMAZING in school!!! When he started pre-k he literally didn't know how to hold a pencil. After just 3 months in school he was writing his own name and now he can write almost anything as long as you tell him the letters. They may not all be the same size and some may show up backwards at times but he does such a great job. He is doing great with numbers too. Just the other day he wrote 1-14 out all by himself, just for fun (crazy boy)! He loves to learn and he is so proud of his accomplishments. His whole face lights up when he gets finished doing something he couldn't before. He started back to school today after the holidays and his teacher stopped me and couldn't say enough about how awesome he was doing and what a big helper he was. With his sweet little smile and good manners he is totally teacher's pet material... hopefully that won't be problematic in the future.
This is one of his papers from back in October. Name spelled right and working on numbers

An artist in the making? This is Cameron's rendition of the picture to the right. He found it in a book and said he was going to draw it... pretty good for a 4 year old.

Bryant is also doing great in school. His teachers have nothing but good things to say about him and LOVE his manners. They say he is always very polite (sigh of relief) and likes to help out. I think Ms. Sarah would take him home if she could, she's always saying how great he is and that he is "so sweet". I honestly think he isn't challenged enough but he just turned 3 and I really want him to enjoy being a kid. Let's face it, it is Mother's Day Out and there is a lot of playing going on in there!
Bryant's claim to fame right now is he is an awesome dancer. The boy has hips that could rival Elvis! I'm not joking! After much trying I finally got it on tape but without music you can't fully appreciate it. We make him dance for things, or bribe him, just so he will "shake his booty" for us (he may need counseling for that later in life). He even gives lessons. He told his grandpa the other day he wasn't doing it right and that he needed to take his underwear off! The explanation on that: Bryant always does his best "moves" after he takes his clothes off and is getting in the bathtub... guess he thought Grandpa needed to try it! Love that boy :)

This video doesn't do it justice... but I tried

... and baby Hayden. She is just stinkin' cute!!! I know everyone thinks that about their kids but with those baby blues, red puffy lips, and chubby cheeks she is beautiful! She decided to start 2011 by eating solid food. After much gagging and choking she has developed the ability to eat something besides pureed mush! She isn't officially crawling yet but she's good enough at army crawling to send Bryant running from the room saying, "Mommy! Hayden's touching my toys!". Haha, what he doesn't know yet!

Yes, you might have kids that can do these things better than mine, and your kids might even be cuter than mine (really???); but, these are my kiddos and I am so proud of them and the little things that make them special!

Addie and Bryant need to have a dance-off! hehe. And I don't think you're biased, they are pretty darn cute kids! Maybe we can arrange a marriage? ;)
