Thanksgiving First's

This year Thanksgiving was back down in San Antonio. The boys have been wanting to go to G&G's ever since they found out Grandpa bought a new tractor... they couldn't get there fast enough. So, we headed down late Tuesday night and after breakfast at Circle G (the local eatery) Wednesday morning, the boys headed out for their first ride on Grandpa's new tractor. They didn't last long. They were plowing a field and it was so rough the boys kept hitting their heads on the cab and they were, as Bryant says, "done".

After lunch, Daddy and Cameron headed out for their first hunting trip to the Ranch. Cameron said he had a good time and was ready to go again, but the hunt itself wasn't very successful. The highlights: shooting a feral hog, seeing a coyote, and spending time with Daddy. The funny story:

A doe comes up outside the deer blind. Cameron watches for 5 minutes. Then...
Cameron: I'm tired. I want to go.
Daddy: We have to wait until she leaves so we don't scare her off.
~after 30 seconds~
Cameron: (begins coughing loudly)
Daddy: Why are you coughing?
Cameron: I just have to
~deer runs off~
Daddy: Ok. Well, let's go.
Cameron: I'm tired.
Daddy: Aren't you hungry.
Cameron: Well, we didn't catch any fish and we didn't shoot any Reindeer so we don't have anything to eat.

Meanwhile back at G&G's house...
Since Grandma wasn't home Grandpa decided he was going to take Bryant and Mommy out for their first taste of Indian food. Grandpa has been working with a lot of Indian people lately so he's developed a taste for their food. So we went out and meet one of Grandpa's friends/co-workers at the restaurant. B loved the food! At least what he could taste of it smothered in ketchup. Mommy wasn't a huge fan. To much curry! Definitely a fun experience though, especially having a native to dine with.

And last but not least this was Hayden's first Thanksgiving. Nothing new or exotic to eat, come on people she's only 7 months, but she did have a great time being spoiled and passed around. We learned she isn't all that shy in a crowd and she rather enjoys being the life of the party. Yes, we are in trouble!

The rest of the long weekend was spent playing with cousins and extended cousins and seeing lots of family. Such a great time to be with family and remember all of the things we are truly thankful for in our lives... especially all the firsts.

The gang and the tractor :)
