Swimming lessons: We signed Cameron up at the local pool for 2 weeks of lessons. He was not that impressed. He did good the first 3 days and then decided he really didn't want to go back. He stuck it out though and even managed to put his face in the water on the last day (we bribed him with M&M's). Bryant had to do private lessons because of his age. He did it with a friend and his teachers were identical twin girls! Pretty funny since I couldn't tell them apart until the last day. He didn't seem to notice or care. He did great in the water and put his face under a lot. No fear is his middle name!

Broke horses and did a little bull riding. Yes, those long summer days were full of animals and crazy riding. They only got bucked off a couple of times. Mutton bustin' next year?

Played with friends: We went to the Parker County Rodeo and saw the real cowboys ride the bulls! The boys loved the action and sharing it with their friends. We also managed several trips to the zoo before the high temperatures set in. The reptile house was the favorite stop (mine too, it was air conditioned) and the train was a close second.

Practiced dressing ourselves: Ha ha! These guys crack me up! The first one is how they dressed to go to the gym one morning... they were cowboys! You can imagine how the people at the gym love to see them coming. The second was them playing basketball outside. You had to wear different shoes if you wanted to be on their team, and Cameron insisted on wearing the shin-guards.

Helped Daddy play in the dirt: Daddy had to do a little "dirt work" around the yard so he borrowed a skid-steer. You can see that went over well. I don't think boys ever outgrow dirt!

Playing dress up: There was lots of mayhem on the sea with these little pirates and their sister. Yes, even Hayden was able to be on the "pirate ship" and look for adventure. The police man kept them all in line.

Swimming with friends: We managed several play dates with friends at their pools. Turned out to be the best way to beat the 100+ degree weather if you didn't want to stay inside anymore. Both boys were doing great by the end. Cameron didn't fuss about water in his face anymore and Bryant was going off the diving board by himself! Shark Boy even made his debute.

All in all an awesome summer! School starts next week... my boys are growing up way too fast!!!
