Making Memories 2011: Port Aransas

FAMILY... the theme for the last several weeks. The third week of June we managed a wonderful trip to Port Aransas with my whole family. We had such a fun time and the kids did great! The trips top 15 memories looked like this:

1. Hayden's 1st trip to the beach.
2. Collecting thousands of baby clams.
3. Cousins coloring together and reading books.
4. Pictures on the beach.
5. Going fishing in the rain.
6. Naps and ice cream!
7. Uncle Craig's raisin analogy.
8. Trip to Corpus and getting stuck in the ferry line for an hour on the way back.
9. The guys fishing trip on the "boat" that didn't exist.
10. Seeing G&G play with the kids on the beach.
11. Pulling the boys on boogie boards.
12. Good food and dinner together every night.
13. Playing games (Cal and Cathy kicking tail at Hand & Foot).
14. Sitting around at night on the screened-in porch and talking.
15. Quality time with FAMILY!

After the beach, G&G kept the boys for a week so they could spend some time with them. All I have to say is that life with 1 baby is EASY!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my time and the boys enjoyed theirs. Their highlights:

1. Collecting change (money) laying around G&G's house.
2. Plowing the field with Grandpa and moving bales of hay with the tractor.
3. Riding the ranger to check the cows.
4. Trading their pregnant cow Robin for Izzy and Tweet (cow and calf pair).
5. Grandpa telling them stories at night.

Hayden and I made our way back down 4th of July weekend to pick them up and help take care of Grandma after her neck surgery. Unfortunately, we also brought the stomach bug with us. No fun! Luckily, Grandma didn't get it and it only lasted 24 hours, but we were hating the world for a few days (and nights). We managed to see GiGi and MiMi (89 and 90 year old great-Grandma's) while we were there, Uncle Craig and Aunt Dawn, and also Aunt Cathy who came to relieve us from nursing duties. Good thing too, I think when the help brings the illness, it is grounds for firing!

Making memories with FAMILY, that's what makes life fun :)
