Good 'ol Mother's Day, or otherwise known in our house as "Modder's Day" by Cameron (I love that boy!), has once again come and gone. I really wish we had this day about once a month, because really, it's nice to be doted on once in awhile. I'm not complaining, I just really enjoy the days of family togetherness and the unspoken rules of being nice to Mommy and no crabbiness, no matter what :)The highlight of the day, besides breakfast in bed, was fishing!! We went to one of Cal's clients and it was perfect catfish fishing. It was the kind of fishing were you throw in your line, wait 30-60 seconds, and then reel in your fish; hopefully, before it broke your line from fighting so hard. These suckers were HUGE! The biggest fish was 17 inches and all the others were pretty close in size. The boys had an amazing time. Cameron was all into the fishing and caught about 4 all by himself. My favorite were his little commentaries while he was reeling, "Fish. You are coming with me!" or another time when he hooked a stick, "I caught land.". Bryant was interested in the fishing for awhile, but even the fast pace wasn't enough for this inquisitive and active boy. His other activities of the day included running, hiding, squashing bugs, jumping over the mud, and playing with the fish. Hayden, on the other hand, didn't get the memo about no crabbiness and was less than impressed with the whole day and the fact we went during nap time. She did like the fish and the horses near by and would focus her attention on them from time to time; but overall, she fussed most of the time, refused to sleep, and really wanted to get down and crawl in the grass, with the ants. We finally put her in the car with the air-conditioning and she took a much needed nap.
Thanks to my sweet hubby for making my day so special and to my wonderful kiddos who allow me to celebrate this day! Love you guys!!!
